Video Managed Services Useful for Public Sector
By Ed Silverstein TMCnet Contributor
Much is known about the use of video managed services in the private sector. But benefits from video managed services can be found, too, in the public sector. Government offices, for example, have lately been observed spending more and more on tech managed services.
In response to these trends, Yorktel, a video managed services provider, is continuing to help public offices and agencies take advantage of video communications. Its clients on the public side include local government offices, schools, universities, the courts, telemedicine, hospitals, and the federal government. The company also provides these offices with such needed services as training, outreach, emergency operations support, and multi-organization collaboration.
Back in April, Yorktel added new top managers to expand its market presence and improve its ability to meet the needs of government agencies, TMCnet reported. Yorktel veteran Daryl Coyle was promoted to vice president of federal sales. Yorktel also appointed Greg Douglas vice president of business development, public sector.
“With the intricate technical, regulatory and compliance challenges that face the public sector, agencies must have trusted partners that can help improve the productivity and effectiveness of their workforce,” Yorktel executive vice president of Sales, Michael Swade, said in a statement. “These personnel moves within our public sector and federal team ensure that Yorktel is equipped to continue providing video conferencing, unified communication and visual collaboration solutions that enable government employees to communicate easily and securely, regardless of the network or mobile device.”
As of this year, Yorktel has three General Services Administration (GSA (News - Alert)) contracts in which the company develops, deploys and supports video solutions, providing engineering, integration and media services. In addition, Yorktel holds a contract for the state of New Jersey Video Teleconferencing Equipment and Services.
“We understand that funding for technology initiatives can be limited; budget constraints are often felt at the state and local level,” Yorktel said. “The benefit of visual communications solutions is that you are able to effectively reduce costs and we will provide you with the ROI metrics to support your solution.”
